What’s Mermaid?
Diagrams written as text: flowcharts, sequence diagrams, Gantt charts and more. GitHub and many docs tools draw them.
Turn Mermaid diagram code into an SVG image: flowcharts, sequence diagrams, class diagrams, Gantt charts, pie charts and more. The SVG stays sharp at any size, so it’s ideal for documents, slides and websites. The diagram is drawn in your browser with the open-source Mermaid library.
What to add
- A .mmd or .mermaid file with the diagram text, such as flowchart TD followed by your boxes and arrows.
- A Markdown (.md) file: the first ```mermaid block in it is used.
- A plain .txt file with the diagram text also works.
Themes
Choose Default, Neutral (black and white, good for printing), Forest or Dark. A theme set inside the diagram with an %%{init: …}%% line takes priority.
If you get a syntax error
The message shows where Mermaid stopped reading. Common causes are a missing diagram type on the first line, brackets that don’t close, or special characters in a label: wrap those labels in quotes, like A["Total (PKR)"].
SVG or PNG?
SVG is best for websites, Word, PowerPoint, Figma and print, because it scales without blur. Choose Mermaid to PNG for chat apps, email and places that only accept ordinary pictures.

Yes. Add as many as you like and download them all as one ZIP.
Is there a size limit?
Files of tens of megabytes are fine on most computers.
Which diagram types work?
The types the Mermaid library supports, including flowchart, sequence, class, state, entity-relationship, Gantt, pie, journey, mindmap and timeline diagrams.
Can I edit the SVG later?
Yes, in a vector editor such as Inkscape, Illustrator or Figma. Labels are real text, not outlines.
Is my diagram uploaded?
No. It is drawn in your browser.
