What IBPS notices ask for

The scanning and upload guidelines in a current IBPS advertisement on ibps.in (October 2026) ask for the following. Each exam publishes its own notice, so check yours before uploading.

• Sign on white paper with a black ink pen.
• Dimensions: 140 × 60 pixels preferred.
• File size: between 10 KB and 20 KB.
• The signature must not be in capital letters.
• It should be of appropriate size and clearly visible.

Why the default is 600 × 200, not 140 × 60

The guidelines prefer 140 × 60 pixels, but they also require at least 10 KB. A clean signature at 140 × 60 is often only a few KB, below that minimum. So we default to 600 × 200 pixels with a 20 KB cap, which usually lands inside the 10 to 20 KB range and keeps the signature from looking miniature.

If you’d rather match 140 × 60 exactly, choose it under Size, then check the file. If it’s under 10 KB, the form may not accept it, and the larger size is the better choice.

Steps

1. Sign on plain white paper with a black pen, the way you normally sign, in running hand rather than capital letters.
2. Take a photo from directly above in good light, close enough that the signature fills most of the frame.
3. Add the photo above. Ink is set to black, size to 600 × 200 px and the limit to under 20 KB.
4. Download the JPG and check that its size is between 10 and 20 KB.
5. Upload it in the signature field of your IBPS application.

If the file is under 10 KB

Very short or thin signatures compress so well that they can fall below 10 KB even at 600 × 200. Try signing with a bolder pen, or lower the clean-up strength so a little more paper texture stays in the image. Setting Ink to “As in the photo” keeps natural pen shading, which also makes the file slightly bigger.

Capital letters and other rejections

The guidelines say signatures in capital letters won’t be accepted, so use your usual signature, not your name printed in block letters. Your uploaded signature should also match the one you write at the exam and later stages, so don’t invent a new style for the form.

A signature that’s too faint, cut off at an edge or photographed at a steep angle can also be unclear. Retake the photo straight on with the whole signature in frame.

Transparent or white background?

Keep the background white. The guidelines ask for black ink on white paper, and the upload must be a JPG, which doesn’t support transparency anyway. The transparent PNG option in the settings is meant for placing a signature on your own documents, not for exam forms.
