Your words, in calligraphy.

Write a name, a verse or a greeting in Urdu, choose from Nastaliq, Ruqa and decorative fonts, and save it as a transparent PNG for posts, cards and designs.

This Urdu calligraphy generator turns any Urdu text into a picture in Nastaliq, Ruqa, Kufi or decorative lettering. Type a name, a verse or a greeting, choose the font, size and colours, and download a PNG with a transparent background for logos, cards, posts and designs. It runs in your browser with free, open-source fonts.

Fonts you can use

  • Nastaliq: Gulzar and Noto Nastaliq Urdu, the flowing style of Urdu books and newspapers.
  • Calligraphy and display: Aref Ruqaa, Katibeh, Jomhuria, Lalezar, Rakkas, Reem Kufi and El Messiri.
  • Naskh: Mirza, Amiri, Scheherazade New, Lateef, Noto Naskh Arabic, Markazi Text and Harmattan, clear and upright.

Settings

  • Text size and colour, and a soft shadow for text on photos.
  • Background: transparent, plain colours, three gradients, or any colour you pick.
  • Picture size: fit the text, a square post, a 9:16 story or a wide 1200 × 630 picture.
  • Alignment: centred, or right-aligned for longer text.

Tips for good calligraphy

Short text looks best: a name, two or three words, or one line of poetry. Nastaliq needs more height than other fonts, so the tool gives it extra line spacing. Use Enter to break a verse into its two lines.

For a logo or a wedding card, download the transparent PNG and place it on your design. For WhatsApp or Instagram, pick a square or story size with a background.

Questions

Is my text uploaded?

No. The picture is drawn in your browser, so your text never leaves your device.

Can I use the image commercially?

Yes. The fonts are under the SIL Open Font License, which allows using pictures made with them in any project, including commercial ones.

Can I type in Roman Urdu?

Type Urdu script here. If you only have English letters, convert them first with Roman Urdu to Urdu, then paste the result.

Why does my text look broken in some fonts?

Make sure it’s typed in Urdu script, not Roman Urdu or Arabic presentation forms copied from old PDFs. All 16 fonts include the Urdu letters, so properly typed Urdu shows correctly.

Can I get a bigger picture?

Increase the text size, or choose a fixed picture size such as 1080 × 1920.
